The Kindergarten/ Grade 1 class meets regularly with the 4/5 class and the 6/7 class for buddy reading. Sharing books with another person helps to build literacy in younger students. Reading regularly out loud helps to build fluency. Best of all, working in multi-age groups is fun.

The grade 2/3 and 4/5 classes have harvested potatoes, onions, cabbage, and carrots from the school garden and have enjoyed cabbage soup and French fries.

Art meets math and science in this intermediate project. Students begin by mapping their bedrooms on paper. They test their recall by taking the maps home to compare with the actual space. Students then measure their room and adjust their maps so they are at scale. This is the beginning of an architectural design project where students build their dream bedroom in 3D sculpture using found materials.
